A breeching inlet is an external connection point through which the Fire Department can supply water to a building’s dry or wet riser system. This allows them to quickly and efficiently pump water to all floors, bypassing the need for a separate water source for each level.
How it Works: The inlet is a large valve with two or four hose connections, typically located on the ground floor. Firefighters can connect their high-pressure pumps to this inlet, pressurizing the building’s internal riser system.
